QuickTransit is a natural fit with server virtualization solutions and, as a result, most Transitive customers deploy QuickTransit in conjunction with some form of server virtualization technology.

To ensure a seamless customer experience and full integration that takes advantage of all the benefits of virtualized IT infrastructure, Transitive has established partnerships with all of the leading server virtualization solution providers, including the following companies:

• VMware – Transitive is a Select member of VMware’s Technology Alliance Partner program.
• Citrix XenServer (formerly XenSource) – Transitive is a Technology Partner, in the Citrix Global Alliance Partner Program.
• Microsoft – Transitive is a member of MSDN (Microsoft Developer Network) and QuickTransit can be deployed in Microsoft’s Hyper-V virtualization solution.
• Parallels – Transitive is a Parallels Technology Partner and QuickTransit can be deployed within Parallels Virtuozzo Containers or Parallels Workstation virtual machines.

All QuickTransit configurations (Workstation, Server and Legacy) can be deployed within a virtual machine (VM) or partition. In this mode, QuickTransit is installed on a guest operating system and then applications from legacy platforms can be run via QuickTransit translation inside the VM. In many cases, the total system resources required by the complete workload (including QuickTransit) represent a fraction of the capacity of the new host server, allowing customers to consolidate multiple VMs on a single physical host, thereby reducing the total number of physical servers required to run a large number of legacy applications.
