Evaluate QuickTransit Now

QuickTransit for Solaris/SPARC-to-Solaris/x86 allows applications that have been compiled for the Solaris operating system and the SPARC processor to run on servers that use the Solaris/x86 operating system and industry-standard Intel or AMD x86 processors, without requiring any source code or binary changes.

QuickTransit’s breakthrough hardware virtualization technology allows Solaris/SPARC applications to run on Solaris/x86 platforms with the following characteristics.

  • Full Functionality. All the features of an application work as you would expect it to work. Translated applications also interact with other natively compiled and translated applications running on the same x86-based server.
  • Complete End-User Transparency. The invocation, use, and management of a translated Solaris/SPARC application are the same as if it were a natively compiled application. As a result, application users do not need to know whether an application is being translated or is natively compiled.
  • Complete System Administrator Transparency. The management of translated Solaris/SPARC applications is the same as with natively compiled application. As a result, system administrators can remain in an all-Solaris environment and continue using their familiar Solaris management tools when running native Solaris/SPARC applications on their Solaris/x86 servers.
